In our last blog post, we discussed the crucial element of time in optimizing product performance for Communications Service Providers, giving statistics of various CSP’s timeframes.

It’s worth noting, however, that performance varies from region to region (as shown in Figure 13).

For instance, the fastest average time to market is in APAC at 6.59 months; but even this is two months slower than marketers in the region hope to achieve (4.08 months). The slowest average TTM is actually in North America at 11.08 months, which is over 3.5 months longer than its marketers hope for (7.53).

Here are some more statistics by global region:

EMEA

CSPs here experience most delays in design (82%) and configure, test & deploy (82%). They are 10 percentage points more likely to experience delays in the design process than the global average.

However, they are less likely to experience delays in define (20 percentage points less than the global average), describe (14 percentage points lower) and retire (17 percentage point lower).

North America

All CSPs reported delays in evaluate & plan (100%), which is 25 percentage points above the global average. Likewise 86% reported delays in define (30 percentage points higher than the average globally) and describe (17 percentage points higher).

On the other hand, this region reported far less problems in the design process (15 percentage points below the global average), and in monitoring (34 percentage points lower), where no CSP reported delays.

APAC

All CSPs reported delays in configure, test & deploy (19 percentage points above the global average),

and 71% in the retire process (18 percentage points above the global average).

However this region experienced relatively low levels of delay in monitor (29% versus 34% globally), and sell & campaign (20 percentage points below the global average).

CALA

There was general dissatisfaction with the performance of processes, with the region reporting particular problems in define (15 percentage points above the global average), monitor (37 percentage point higher than the global average) and retire (18 percentage points higher than globally).
